TaxDome is a safe and secure portal to provide your sensitive documents. Upload documents and complete the digital organizer by using your cellphone camera via the TaxDome App! Documents should never be sent through e-mail. We do offer the option to drop off documents but please coordinate with us prior to doing so.
6. Review the completed tax return
7. Payment of remaining invoice due
8. E-sign for tax return by taxpayer(s)
9. E-filing of the tax return

Tax Day is April 18, 2023 for individual income tax returns. You can file IRS Form 4868 to extend the time to file your return - the extension provides 6 more months to file your return. The extended deadline to file your return is then October 16, 2023.

You must file your request for an extension by April 18, 2023.

The extension to file your tax return does not extend your time to pay any taxes owed.

If you owe taxes, you should estimate and pay by April 18, 2023 to avoid possible penalties and interest.

S-Corporations and Partnerships

Calendar year S-Corporations and Partnership returns are due March 15, 2023. Filing an extension will provide 6 more months to file your return. The extended deadline to file your return is then September 15, 2023. An extension to file is not an extension to pay any taxes owed.

CPA is short for Certified Public Accountant. CPAs are licensed by a state board of accountancy. To earn the CPA designation you have to demonstrate knowledge and competence by meeting educational requirements, passing the Uniform CPA exam, and having appropriate experience. CPAs have to comply with ethical requirements and complete specified levels of continuing education in order to maintain an active CPA license. CPAs are one of the few professionals that have unlimited representation rights before the IRS.

Not necessarily, it will depend on your tax situation. Preparing taxes on your own takes time and patience.  It may not be the most pleasant process but it can be done. If your tax situation is straightforward (W2, no dependents, no investments, etc) using tax software over a professional tax preparer may be worthwhile.

If your adjusted gross income is $73,000 or less, you are eligible to use the IRS Free File for a free Federal return.

1) Social Security documents - this is to ensure all spellings and numbers will be correct on your tax return

3) IL-PIN if one has been issued to you by the state of Illinois and/or IP PIN if one has been issued
